The SDRM

Managing reproduction rights for works

Whether it is a vinyl record, a CD or a video recording, fixing a work onto a physical medium requires a specific framework. Since 1935, the SDRM (Society for the Administration of Mechanical Reproduction Rights) has been simplifying the process for you: it issues the necessary authorisations to producers and ensures that each copy generates fair remuneration for creators.

Our remit

Founded by Sacem and Aeedrm, the SDRM safeguards the material and moral interests of authors, composers, publishers, film directors, voice-over artists and subtitlers whenever their works are reproduced on a physical medium (CD, vinyl, DVD, multimedia).

Our work is based on three commitments:

  • Authorisation: To permit the lawful reproduction rights for works from the repertoires we manage.
  • Setting terms: Establishing clear and fair terms of use for the industry.
  • Remunerate: Conduct collection and distribution of royalties as accurately as possible.

Obtain authorisation

Requesting Authorisation before you start producing your media (CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, etc.) ensures that the authors, composers, publishers and producers of the works are paid. You can do it all here, in just a few clicks.
