Private local radio station

Media and digital distribution

You would like to set up a private local radio station broadcasting over the airwaves.

Conditions of the Authorisation

The works you use are the creations of authors and composers whose work is protected by law. Using them requires authorisation granted to you by the authors’ collecting societies. You sign a single Contract/agreement with Sacem and SDRM.
It covers works from the SACD (Society of Dramatic Authors and Composers), the SCAM (Civil Society of Multimedia Authors) and the ADAGP (Society of Authors in the Graphic and Plastic Arts), as well as those from foreign societies bound by reciprocal agreements.
  • Criteria

    • Your contract/agreement authorises you to broadcast the works you schedule on your local private radio station, as well as to use works to produce your own programmes.
    • Your authorisation is granted under the reproduction rights and the representation rights.
    • This authorisation does not, in particular, cover moral rights or derivative rights such as the right to arrange, the right to adapt, the right to translate, etc. Nor does it cover Related rights.
    • You are of legal age or the legal representative of a minor or a person under guardianship or trusteeship.
  • Prices

The remuneration payable to authors in return for Authorisation is proportional to:
    – the costs incurred by private community-run local radio stations eligible for the support fund,
    – the revenue generated by private commercial local radio stations.
